Carl Jung Quote: "Our unconscious existence is the real one...."?
Jung viewed the unconscious as more important than consciousness. Most people believe the exact opposite, that the unconscious is of lesser value than consciousness. While the unconscious is intrusive in every one's life, it is not the dominant force in the individual's life. One must take Jung's statement, and realize that it was made by someone who spent his entire life studying the unconscious. This obviously impressed upon him that the unconscious was more of a reality than a individual's day to day life. While I am an admirer of Jung's work, I disagree with his statement.
