What are the air cadets?

My parents came home today and told me they signed me up for air cadets. So, I want to know what it is. My friend that goes to army cadets does things they usually do in the army, such as marching bands and shooting. Is air cadets going to be anything like that, or will they teach us how to ride an airplane (which I'm pretty sure is illegal to anyone under 18)? Will their also be war tactics, survival, or shooting?
