I think I've fallen for him but I need advice!! ?

Basically I'm 16, and Im also in the air cadets n like, there's this guy who's 19 who goes to a different squadron who I've vaguely known for two years but recently we were in the same group on a camp and after we started talking on facebook and now we talk or text almost constantly...and like last time we met up we just lay on some grass n cuddled up n it was really nice n ever since then we've been like..flirting a bit (he called me the prettiest girl he knows n stuff) n keeps saying he wishes I was with him when were apart...but like I think I've fallen from him but I have no idea if he's just flirting for fun or cos he likes me or just wants to pull me n I kind of want to say to him to not flirt if he doesn't mean it but I can't.....and I've been so hurt by guys in the past....plus it'll make cadet activities really awkward if I tell him how I feel and he doesn't like me back and I don't want to lose him as a friend!!! Advice??
